Artist Phillip Gray’s impression of the sailing ship Loch Ard striking Muttonbird Island in 1878, just beyond the entrance to the gorge in the picture above. Only one passenger and one crew member survived the shipwreck after being washing into what is now known as Loch Ard Gorge.

Our books are renown for their background of thorough research, attention to detail, quality of indexing and accessibility of writing. Many Australians are descended from those who left Britain by sailing ship, so our books are of interest to those investigating their family history or with an interest in the shipwrecks that dot Australia’s coastline.
Our books of memoir cover the Second World War, particularly Bomber Command, and life during the Great Depression.
Our book of short stories is entertaining and beautifully written.
